OK, I’ll bite. What’s a copywriter?
A copywriter is a person who writes content for business. The scope really varies from project to project, but as a general rule of thumb, a copywriter writes text which is intended to inspire the reader to do a specific action – usually purchasing a product or service.
And people pay you to do this? Even though every literate person can write?
Right…but not everyone can write something that is going to have the desired effect. Being able to write in English is really just the first step; good copywriting comes as a result of extensive research, decades of careful reading and writing experience, a spattering of creativity, a hefty dose of talent and a lot of eagle-eyed proof-reading of countless drafts.
Alright, fine. But how do you put a price on that?
Basically, when you hire me, you’re buying my time, experience and expertise. As such, I’ll provide a quote on a project by project basis that takes all of that into account, plus the specific requirements of your project. What is it that you’re looking for?
