freelance copywriter

Hello there! I’m Ed.

Since you’re here, chances are you need someone to write something for you. And chances are I can help. But we probably ought to get to know each other a little first. Why not have a click of that nice big button down there?

You already know that strong, effective copy is vital for your business to sell its goods and services. But writing that copy? Not as easy as it looks.

If you know what you want but you’ve got a blank page staring up at you, then just give me some details and I can write whatever it is you need. (Within reason.)

Pen for hire.

Already written something? Nice one! That’s half the battle. Still, though, it could probably do with a second pair of eyes.

Grammatical correctness, factual accuracy, stylistic improvements – an edit can include anything that’s needed to make your piece of writing better.

Fix up, look sharp.

You worked hard on getting your brand right. Now, you have to keep it right. Every time your business speaks, the tone of voice needs to be consistent, whether it’s a customer newsletter or a 5AM tweet.

Working together, I can write you a hymn sheet for your brand to sing from.

Bottle your style.

OK, I’ll bite. What’s a copywriter?

A copywriter is a person who writes content for business. The scope really varies from project to project, but as a general rule of thumb, a copywriter writes text which is intended to inspire the reader to do a specific action – usually purchasing a product or service.

And people pay you to do this? Even though every literate person can write?

Right…but not everyone can write something that is going to have the desired effect. Being able to write in English is really just the first step; good copywriting comes as a result of extensive research, decades of careful reading and writing experience, a spattering of creativity, a hefty dose of talent and a lot of eagle-eyed proof-reading of countless drafts.

Alright, fine. But how do you put a price on that?

Basically, when you hire me, you’re buying my time, experience and expertise. As such, I’ll provide a quote on a project by project basis that takes all of that into account, plus the specific requirements of your project. What is it that you’re looking for?

I’m asking the questions here.

Oh, sorry.

Say – strictly hypothetically, mind you – that I do want to hire you to write something for me. How long is it going to take?

Well, that really depends on the specifics: what you want writing, how long it’s supposed to be, what it’s about… Plus we’d also need to take my availability, your go-live date and review periods into account. Look, it’s really best if we just get down to brass tacks and discuss how I can help you with your project. You can call me at 07521171349, send me an email at or submit a brief here. You can even slide on in to my Instagram or Twitter DMs if you’re feeling particularly old media averse.

Enough with the hard sell.

That’s not really a question…

Fine, we’re done here. Do you have anything to say for yourself?

Are these questions really frequently asked? It seems a little aggressive.

Let’s chat! Links below for the good stuff.
